Taunton Association for the Homeless
Taunton Association for the Homeless (TAH) houses, supports and empowers homeless people in Somerset. It was established in 1973 by ordinary members of the public and continues to make a dynamic contribution to the local community and economy, supporting over 500 people each year.
TAH provides a variety of accommodation such as hostels, supported shared housing and a Young Persons project, along with numerous community enterprises including a skills and training centre and a rent deposit bond scheme, Smart Move.
The organisation has become locally and nationally respected and in 2009 was selected by the government as a Rough Sleeping Champion, charged with promoting good practice and helping others to improve homelessness services.
