Our Staff and Board Members
On day-to-day basis, Taunton Association for the Homeless is led by a very small but hugely experienced Senior Management Team. They are:-

John and Sarah are ably supported by a committed and trained staff team of around 50, the vast majority of whom are directly involved with front-line services. There are also a number of retained relief staff who provide cover for staff absences. The project-based teams are led by:-

TAH has a voluntary Board of Management - committed and talented individuals who, between them, have a wide range of skills and are responsible for the strategic direction of the association and for ensuring it continues to achieve its purpose. The current Board Members are:-
Dr David Edmondson (Chair) - joined 2008 (click here to contact David)
A full-time GP for thirty years until he retired in 2007, David instigated and, for a number of years, ran the GP surgery within TAH’s Lindley House hostel. As well as running his own business, David was Chair of the Taunton Primary Care Group and, when this evolved into a Trust, was the first Professional Executive Chair. In 2007 he chaired a group overseeing the development of practice-based commissioning. David was appointed Chair of TAH on 5th October 2010.
Liz Fothergill - joined 2008 (click here to contact Liz)
Liz has worked for Taunton & District Citizens Advice Bureau since 1993 and has been manager of that service since 2005 with responsibility for a large number of volunteers and 12 paid staff. Her roles have included bureau management, representing clients at tribunals, specialist casework and the coordination of multi-agency Assessment Panels on behalf of Taunton Deane Borough Council for the homeless and difficult to place.
Philip Qureshi - joined 2009 (click here to contact Philip)
Philip is an accountant, currently on secondment from Somerset Primary Care Trust to Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation where he has been involved in Fixed Asset accounting and system issues, the development of Business Continuity and other Policies, the management of Audit responses , the preparation of accounts and other financial roles. From 1992 to 1999 Philip was Senior Internal Auditor at Somerset County Council.
Mark Wall - joined 2009 (click here to contact Mark)
Mark is Associate Director (Communications and Marketing) at the Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation Trust where he is responsible for strategic development and operational implementation of Trust communication. In previous careers, Mark was a direct access hostel manager in London before becoming a Regional Manager for Stonham Housing Association, who he left in 2003.
Sarah Day - joined 2010 (click here to contact Sarah)
Sarah is currently Senior Management Accountant for Somerset Community Health at the Primary Care Trust. She has been there since 2006 and manages a small team who oversee budgets of around £70m across 13 community hospitals and community health services across Somerset. Sarah previously worked for Westland Helicopters, originally as a Structural Design Engineer but, after a career change, moved into the Finance team.
David Whitehead - joined 2010 (click here to contact David)
Until his recent retirement, David worked for Taunton Deane Borough Council for over 30 years in a variety of roles including being Housing Strategic Services Manager from 2004 until his retirement in 2009. In that role he covered Choice Based Lettings, Homelessness, Enabling new developments, private sector renewal, housing standards and housing strategy. He was a member of the council’s core management team and represented them on a number of external bodies.
